More Legal Cannabis Sold in Washington than Colorado in August
For the first time legal cannabis sales in Washington State have surpassed those in Colorado. According to new data released by the Colorado Department of Revenue, there was roughly $126 million in legal cannabis sold in the month of August. Although this is a record for the most amount of legal cannabis ever sold in Colorado in a single month (by comparison there was roughly $100 million sold last August), there was more sold during the same period in Washington State. In August, there was $130 million in legal cannabis sold in Washington State, which remains the highest amount of legal cannabis sold in a given month in U.S. history.

Pesticide and Fertilizer Use on Marijuana in Washington
The Washington State Department of Agriculture posted information about pesticides, fertilizers, worker protection standards, Chemigation & Fertigation Technical Assistance Program, pesticide storage, & waste pesticide disposal. Note that in their posting they included many helpful links to resources as well as info about when workers must be trained on the requirements of the Worker Protection Standard (WPS) and what your training options are (note that this is not a service I offer as of today, but contact me at 360-448-1882 if you need a referral).

CDC: More People Using marijuana, Fewer Abusing It
Marijuana abuse and dependency are becoming less common as states roll back restrictions on the use of the substance, according to a new federal report. In 2014, the number of Americans ages 12 and older meeting diagnostic criteria for marijuana abuse or dependency stood at 1.6 percent, a decline from 1.8 percent in 2002, according to the report released Thursday by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
